Annual Advocacy Conference

The Speak Out Conference started in 1982.

It was made to help people move from institutions to living in the community.

Our conference is the longest-running in Australia for people with intellectual disability.

We follow the idea of "Nothing About Us Without Us."

This means people with intellectual disability:

  • Help plan the conference

  • Are part of the committees

  • Help run the conference as MCs and presenters
